My close friend and Karate ally for a great many years, is a man very capable of doing this!

Acquiring the skills and knowledge required to become an accomplished Martial Artist is one thing...Having the ability to then pass these virtues on to others is quite another....My close friend and Karate ally for a great many years, is a man very capable of doing this!...I have, on many occasions, taught alongside him and am constantly impressed with how he manages, with ease, to convey to students the vast amount of knowledge he has amassed, in his over 40 years of continuous study of the Martial Arts.

Terry O'Neil 8th Dan KUGB,

I always learn something new when I train with Simon and I am always astounded by his knowledge of Shotokan Karate and its practical application ...

Simon Oliver, Martial Arts author, historian an absolute expert in Shotokan Karate and the field of Kata Bunkai and Oyo. There is not a Karateka around that doesn’t know his name. I have personally known Simon for many years having trained with him in my “younger days” and continue to train with him as often as I can. Even though I have trained in Shotokan Karate for forty years and with some of the top English and Japanese instructors, I always learn something new when I train with Simon and I am always astounded by his knowledge of Shotokan Karate and its practical application. Simon’s teaching is second to none with the ability to impart highly technical information in an easy to understand way that all grades and abilities can assimilate. Simon’s classes are always brilliant and should not be missed. He has something to offer everyone regardless of age or rank. On a personal note, Simon is an absolute gentleman and someone I am honoured to have as a Karate colleague as well as a good friend. Ossu!

Simon Oliver Sensei is a Karate Ka in the true sense of the word. It is my privilege to know and train under his excellent tuition.

His historical knowledge of the Okinawan /Japanese martial arts is second to none as is his own physical delivery of the art.
